MoteDisk Space Cleaner
Your disk is full and macOS won't say why.
Mote will. Point it at a folder, or your whole Mac, and it draws everything you own as a map. Whatever is eating your storage is the biggest shape on screen.
Two ways to look
Rings show how your folders nest inside one another. Blocks show raw size, side by side. Same scan, whichever your eyes prefer. Click anything to zoom into it and keep going.
What it does
- Finds the large files. Every file you own, ranked, across the whole scan.
- Tells you what's safe. Caches, build folders, simulator runtimes and old installers get a green note. Your Photos library gets a careful one.
- A basket, not a bulldozer. Drop things in, watch the total add up, then move the lot to the Trash in one go. Nothing moves until you say so.
- Honest numbers. When macOS locks Mote out of a folder, it says so — rather than quietly reporting a total that is too small.
- Search everything. Find anything by name across the whole scan, without scanning again.
Mote has no network access at all. It is built without the macOS entitlement that would let it open a connection, so it cannot send anything anywhere — enforced by the operating system, not by a promise. No account, no analytics, no tracking. Read the policy.
Free, and Pro
Mote is free, and free includes 10 GB of tidying. Mapping, searching and flagging are unlimited and always will be. If you want to keep clearing beyond that, Mote Pro lifts the limit for good — one payment, no subscription, and it works on every Mac you sign in on.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Apple silicon and Intel.
